Extra pounds, more GI problems, less exercise
Research conducted by the University of Washington in Seattle, University of Minnesota School of Public Health in Minneapolis, and Harvard in Cambridge, Mass., has shown that overweight and obese men and women trying to lose weight report a range of gastrointestinal problems – abdominal pain, irritable bowel syndrome, diarrhoea and bloating. Greater the amount of excess weight, greater the symptoms. These problems make it that much more difficult for them to get up and indulge in exercise.
Now for the good part of this newspiece. Though gastrointestinal symptoms may impede their ability to exercise, those symptoms may also be alleviated by exercise. So get up and get moving!
