Prevent winter from being a weight gain season
What makes winter a weight gain season?
- Cold and long nights > Seeking warmth indoors > Decrease in activity levels
- Multiple layers of clothing > Excess weight not prominently visible > Lowering of guard against obesity concerns
- Festive season > Celebrations > Tendency to gorge
So, what should be done?
- Keep a little tense about your weight by wearing tight clothes rather than loose ones.
- When celebrating, set a limit on how much to eat and drink.
- Avoid the building up of fat by eating less on the day following any kind of indulgence in eating or drinking.
- Avoid pizzas and hamburgers, opt for fruits and vegetables.
- Staying indoors means several visits to the fridge. So do not stock it with junk food.
- Try to avoid shopping when hungry.
- During a meal, eat slowly and drink water between bites.
- If you do not have the inclination to exercise, try increasing your activity in trivial places. For example, take a walk instead of drining down to a nearby friend; use the stairs instead of the elevator.
