Brown Fat–Key to Weight Loss?

Submitted by David Hamm on Thursday, 9 April 2009No Comment

obesity-cdsfJacksonville – Research is proving that brown fat cells are associated with weight management. Babies are born with an extremely high amount of this specific type of fat cells.

These brown cells are responsible for the fast rate of metabolism with newborns. In adults these brown cells are outnumbered by while fat cells. It is the brown fat that can burn calories faster and result in weight control
and reduction. The common white fat cells store energy from food unlike the brown cells that burn calories quickly.

Researchers are optimistic with the positive findings about brown fat cells and their relation to weight loss.

There is confidence that a new treatment for obesity will be found through increasing brown fat cells.

The purpose of the studies was to investigate the triggers for increasing the body’s production of brown fat secretion.

It was found that a particular protein in the bones, BMP-7, is essential for the increased secretion of brown fat cells. In the studies, boosting the reserves of brown fat increased metabolism and gave way to weight loss.

This research is giving hope to those with a predisposition with genetically associated obesity.

Adding more brown fat cells in the body’s tissues than while fat cells is renewing the quest for permanent weight loss.
